What you need to know

  • The Famicom Detective Club games are murder mystery visual novels that were originally exclusive to Japan.
  • Persons who buy one of the Famicom Detective Club games on the Nintendo Switch will receive a discount on the other game.
  • It doesn't matter which game is bought first, the discount will be applied at checkout for the second game purchased.

Sales on first-party Nintendo Switch games are extremely rare outside of holidays and special celebrations. That's why their new special offer for the Famicom Detective Club games is so special.

If you purchase either Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir or Famicom Detective Club: The Girl who Stands Behind, you can get the second Famicom Detective Club Game you purchase at a discounted price of $24.99. If you've bought one Famicom Detective Club game and don't see the discount for the second, don't worry — the discount will only be applied to the second game on the checkout screen in the Nintendo eShop or at Nintendo.com.

The Famicom Detective Club games are a visual novel series that were previously only available on the Family Computer System in Japan. The first game, Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir, sees the player guide a young detective suffering from amnesia, who must solve the mystery of the Ayashiro family heir in order to regain their memories. The sequel, Famicom Detective Club: The Girl who Stand Behind follows a young detective trying to solve the mystery of a schoolgirl's murder, who was herself trying to solve a ghost story. Both games are similarly constructed to the Phoenix Wright games, where the player must investigate several locations and look for clues, while interviewing anyone who may have some information on what happened.

Nintendo is well-known for its ability to make awesome games, so if you're into visual novels, spooky stories or the Phoenix Wright series, you may want to check out this offer!
